If you can not hold out please come listen to his story

March 19, 2023, was a memorable day for marathons in China. Two Chinese athletes (He Jie and Yang Shaohui) broke the men's marathon national record in the Wuxi Marathon. But it is worth noting that a young man from Gaomi, Weifang, Shandong Province, Wang Lianzheng, ran the marathon in 2 hours and 20 minutes, fulfilling a long-cherished dream. He not only created the Weifang City full marathon results but also wished to reach the national fitness level.

As a matter of fact, there are less than 100 people in China who can run the full marathon in 2 hours and 20 minutes. Wang Lianzheng ran through the finish line; the score was fixed at 2 hours 19 minutes 27 seconds; at this time, he was utterly unable to control their own emotions, tears flowed, his hands covered his face sat on the ground. The thousands of emotions at this moment, not the runner himself, perhaps it isn't easy to empathize.

Wang Lianzheng was born in 1996, had received professional training in Weifang City Sports School. Before that, he had to give up running to earn money to support his family because he was forced to make a living. However, the dream of running that he carries in his heart has never been extinguished, and he insisted on training and running after completing a workload of nearly ten hours during the day.

Later, he joined a local running group and started to participate in marathons around the world as an amateur runner. He won his second full marathon in Qixia, Yantai, with a time of 2 hours and 24 minutes. Later, in April 2021, he ran the Xiamen Marathon in 2 hours and 21 minutes, placing fifth among amateurs. He became so famous that he quit his job in order to train better.

But that year, with most of the marathon race suspended and no financial resources to support their running dreams, running into the 220 boasts gave him tremendous pressure but also brought a lot of questions; backed by the pressure, he ran many times, crashed, the results are not good. Wang Lianzheng also hesitated to give up, but with the encouragement of his family and friends, he persisted.

During the 2023 winter training period, Wang Lianzheng trained very hard; he ran a total of nearly 1600 kilometres during the two months, looking forward to the new season to have good results. But just a week before the start of the Wuxi Marathon, he was infected with influenza A after three days of injections; although he "slowed down", the confidence was gone. "This time 220 and no hope", Wang Lianzheng thought. As the saying goes, "I don't have a heart," Wang Lianzheng ran out of hope, but he wanted to achieve.

Running into the 220 results is the best account of his running lap after lap, unremitting perseverance, he said: "These three years of sweet and sour ...... to thank a lot of people, thanks." Wang Lianzheng because of their persistence to fulfil his long-cherished wish, but also let more people see the reason to persist in everything.

When I saw his story, I felt shocked, which not only inspired me to work harder to keep my heart adhered to my hobbies, but the key is that he gave me more spiritual encouragement, taught me in the future study or life to drum up the courage never to be afraid of losing and bravely go forward. Whether you run or not, I hope Wang Lianzheng's story can give you some inspiration. You and I will work hard together to move forward!
