The rise of long-distance running in WKU

In recent years, with the popularization of the concept of sports for all in all regions of China, long-distance running is slowly gaining momentum. It is against this background that WKU has taken the initiative to set up a long-distance running interest group, which has led to a hunger for long-distance running in the whole university.

Since the founding of the university, WKU has created athletic associations that contain clubs or groups for many sports. As a long-distance runner, I took this opportunity to start a long-distance running interest group with many of my fellow runners.

The Long Distance Running Interest Group has a lot of benefits. We, as the founders, are not only able to enrich our own spare time but also able to enrich the sports atmosphere of the school by organizing open events such as this Long Distance Running Relay. We started the Long Distance Running Interest Group with the intention of encouraging more people to join the sport of running.

I think running is meant to be a no-barrier, no-boundary sport. Everyone can have the power to run equally. WKU's Distance Running Interest Group wants to inspire more people to participate in running, discuss running, and spread the idea of running. We hope that the whole campus and even the whole city can become an ideal world for running. As former marathon world record holder Kipchoge expressed on his trip to China this year: "There are no limits to human beings. China can become a running powerhouse through hard work."

The WKU Long Distance Running Interest Group is now a much larger group of people, with many more students running consistently than before. That's what we're trying to accomplish. The running world can be peaceful. No matter how many unknowns and difficulties lie ahead. I will definitely continue to run, hold on to my heart, keep my feet on the ground, and keep this love alive. I believe that through my efforts and the efforts of everyone around me, this campus, and even the world, will become a world of sports and health.
